This spring YLC proudly hosted Yukon, A Welcoming Place: Celebration of Culture at Haa Shagóon Hídi in Carcross, YT. It was an incredible two day event filled with storytelling, music, food, and meaningful connections between Yukon First Nations and newcomers to Canada.
This celebration marked the end of our three-year project for Pathways for Success. Yukon Pathways to Success is a project designed to address the needs and challenges faced by the hospitality and tourism sector. Through this project, YLC developed training programs to strengthen the workforce, support local businesses, and promote a positive working environment. Training was co-developed with community partners to ensure the needs of businesses are met, and local knowledge from and about Yukon First Nations is embedded. The celebration was a wonderful way to wrap up the hard work and celebrate with so many people of the Yukon.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed- your presence and energy truly brought this event to life! Seeing people come together to share traditions, learn from one another, and celebrate diverse cultures that make up our community was inspiring. We are excited to continue fostering connections and creating more opportunities in the future!
